For Individuals: one-to-one sessions and group classes
Mindfulness is frequently delivered in the form of classes and various courses. Courses offered on the Coffs coast are described below.
Food Mood and Mindfulness
Food Mood and Mindfulness is a series of three introductory workshops running at fortnightly intervals. They are intended to give participants the opportunity to explore a very different approach to food, eating, their body and themselves. This approach is based on the principles and practice of mindfulness: the skill of paying attention with friendly, open interest and kindness. Participants will be encouraged to observe patterns of thoughts, feelings, sensations and behaviours and note the choices they make as a result of these relationships. The sessions will encourage a supportive atmosphere of self-compassion, reflection and mindful awareness. We will do this through meditation practices, exercises, and discussions in small groups or with the whole class. Participants will also be asked to meditate regularly at home for brief periods and to make time for personal reflection and record-keeping.

Cost: $150.00 (includes a workbook, journal, book/cd set)
Follow-up sessions and all-day retreats will become available in the coming months to refresh the practice of past participants. This is a relaxed way of reuniting with those from a previous course and benefiting from the comraderie and support of others.
The Mindfulness Course by Distance Learning is also available. This is a structured program in which the participant phones the instructor every week for 50 minutes. It has been found to be an effective and practical means of providing training for those committed to engaging fully in meditation practices at home.
